I’m Charles, Founder and Digital Strategist here at CKDIGITAL.
I know you are on this website to grow your business, not to hear my story. If you are interested in that, here’s a pretty short version (I love telling this story)…
I started CKDIGITAL over 10 years ago as a ‘side hustle’ immediately after my Computer Science degree at the university, while hoping to get a ‘real job’.
I honestly didn’t think I had what it took to run a business full time. What I knew perfectly, was that I loved design, and was passionate about it. As long as I was on my laptop designing one thing or the other, I was satisfied, whether I had eaten or not.
I took up an internship role at a web design firm, and after that, started working as a part-time web designer at a church – while building my ‘side hustle’.
During this time, I had launched a simple portfolio website and put up the 4 websites I had built for family and friends.
Little by little, people started noticing my work. They liked the quality of the designs. Some of these people referred me to others, and I started getting more projects.
I then learned digital marketing, and got my website to rank on the first page of Google. More people started getting in touch. It was exciting!
At a point, I couldn’t handle the demand, so I quit my job and faced CKDIGITAL full time. My mum allowed me convert the small store at her supermarket to my office, and this became our first CKDIGITAL HQ.
Fast forward to today: we are a fast growing team of 12 people, and have worked on over 450 projects, and are one of the leading digital agencies in Nigeria.
